Spinning

There is a great deal of mysticism and storytelling surrounding the act of hand spinning thread and it would have been much more commonplace in previous eras, with most people being expected to know the skill. I have been learning to spin with a drop spindle, which is what would have been used right up until the invention of the spinning wheel in the Medieval era.
